CV CH17: National Tournament arc

Ride 17

Luna's past reveled...



A few days had gone by, everyone was getting ready for the National Tournament's main event. People were battling friends, upgrading their decks, and other stuff.

Meanwhile in an ally way, Ice was just finishing up beating someone in a cardfight....

"Man this is so lame." Ice groaned, turning his grade three to attack his opponent, dealing them their sixth damage.

Ice walks off from the ally way, bored. He thinks back to earlier this morning...


--a few hours earlier--


Kiryu was sitting in his chair, building, yet again, a mini robot. In the same room was Ice, who was working on his deck.

"Hmm..." Ice grumbed as he switched out card after card. "Maybe the demon chariot of the underworld..that build always works well with blade wing Reji..."

"You know, you'll get a better understanding of you play against people. Maybe you can go look for someone because your mumbling is annoying me." Kiryu says in an annoyed tone.

It had been only a few days, but they found out from Savior that Akaihono has rejected Psyquila and was back to normal. Though Savior didn't tell them he was there.

Ice narrowed his eyes at the cards on the table. "Correct me if i'm wrong.." He said softly. "But I sense something is annoying you."

"I'm fine. I'm just trying to concentrate." Kiryu says, clearly annoyed, something Ice had never seen on Kiryu as he is always calm and collected.

"Is it something to do with Akai-" He began.

"SHUT UP!!" Kiryu yells as he stands up and slams the desk with his hands, a huge gust of Psyquila emits from his body as he bares a very angry look on his once calm face. "Get out. Now!"

Ice swept his cards into his bag and sprinted out of the room, just in front of the wind wave and once outside the door, he leaned againast the wall, panting 'Ok...I think he's going off the deep end.' He thought. 'I hope savior can placate him somehow before I get back...'

Back in the room, Kiryu was gripping his hands together in a fist. "Curse you sister...you'll pay for this. I won't let you take my plans away from me. I will get Akaihono back into Psyquila, and I know just what to do."

The boy opens Jiro's laptop and looks up the info on Luna and Hito.


--present time--


Ice was walking around the city after the battle in the ally way, wondering what to do when he gets a text.

'Oh crap, its from him.' He thought sweat dropping as he flipped open his phone.

The text reads "break Luna's smile". Ice reads the text, even though he didn't want to follow Kiryu's orders, this was something he's wanted to do for awhile, knowing that he had the info to do it.

"Meh. I got nothing else to do for entertainment." He said but smirks, moving along with his hands in his pockets. "Hehe, prepare your self Luna, because your smile is about to leave that face of yours."

Meanwhile at the card shop, Luna, Hito and Akaihono were all playing against different people, trying to practice their decks and such.

Hito grinned as he fidgeted around wit his deck. "Aw man, I'm so stoked for this." He said, smiling around at the others.

"Yeah!" Luna says smiling happily as she had just finished a cardfight. "Alright, who wants to fight me next?" She asks as she looks at the other players. It was here a familiar face walked into the shop and Luna looked over.

Ice strolled in, hands in his pockets, glaring round at them. "How's it hanging losers?" He asked, strolling up to their table without a care in the world.

Akaihono, Hito and everyone else sweats a bit, remembering what happened last time he was here and how rude he was.

"Hey Ice. Wanna fight?" Luna asks with a smile on her face, still unfazed by Ice.

Hito held out a hand. "Hold on a second luna. don't you wanna know what he's doin here?" He asked suspiciously.

Ice ignored him. He looked down on Akaihono for a second, which the boy looked up at him...then turned to Luna. "Yes I would." He gave her a grin without humor.

"I don't really mind why he's here. I just wanna cardfight him. I get the feeling I'll beat him this time around!" Luna says with a smile as she sets her deck down on one of the new stand tables that Beth added to the store.

Ice placed his deck and starting vanguard down on the table. "I very much doubt that girl." He said coldly to her.

"We won't know until we cardfight." Luna says drawing her five cards. She looks at her hand and smiles, happy with her hand.

Ice drew his five cards and seemed content. "Okay, you can go first."

"Okay! Stand up my Vanguard!" Luna says turning over her Starter!"

Ice flipped the card over too. "Stand up my vanguard."

Luna draws her first card and rides to grade 1. "I ride Irina! I check the top two cards and pick a silver thorn and soul charge, then put the second card at the buttom of my deck. My starter moves back."

it was then,Lluna noticed that the stater opposite her cards wasn't a granblue.

Instead of a pirate, it was a well dressed man, with white hair, black gloves carrying his long delicate fingers.

Hito frowned from the sidelines, leaning in slightly. "Greedy hand? isn't that a dark-irregular?"

"Seems he switched decks." Akaihono says, as he stares at the starter unit.

Ice drew his card. He stared at the cards thoughtfully. "I ride alluring succubus." A purple skinned woman, showing off some carefully censred breasts appeared, greedy hand sliding back behind her.

'Why would he switch? What's the purpose?' Akaihono thought in his head as he wanted to ask but was afraid to do so.

Ice grinned. "I play succubus's ability." He said with a smirk. "When ir appears on either the rearguard or the vanguard, since its a dark irregular, I can soul charge one card." he placed the card under his vanguard.

"I call a second alluring succubus and soul charge again." He says and that made two cards in the soul.

"Hehe, a battle of the soul charging? This will be fun Ice." Luna says giggling happily.

"I doubt it girl." Ice growled, turning his cards. "With support from my greedy hand, succubus attacks!" The attack power of his vanguard increased to 12000.

"No guard."

Ice flipped over a card from his deck. "Ah, Hysterical shirly, draw trigger!" He grinned. "Power to my rearguard succubus and I draw." With that he draws and Luna takes her first damage and got no trigger.

"Next up is my rearguard succubus!" Once again 12000 power came at Luna.

"No guard." Luna says as she take her second damage. "You really know what your doing."

Ice's smile dropped. "Get on with your turn." He grunted.

Luna nods as she draws a card. "You may have switched to a Soul Charge deck, but I'm the Ring Master here Ice." Luna says imagining herself as Irina. "I ride Siver Thorn Beast Tamer Maricia!"

Luna's image is now that of Maricia, her purple hair is longer in a spiral ponytail and very less clothing. "I call Silver Thorn Upright Lion, Irina, and Silver Thorn Assassint Zelma. Irina's skill! Check two cards and charge one. Then Zelma's skill! I move Irina into the soul and I call my Avatar from the soul!" Luquier appears on the field.

"Wow! Luna's new cards are awesome!" Akaihono says with excitement.

Ice crossed his arms. "I'm hardly impressed." He said coldly.

"Then I'll attack! I'll attack with my vanguard!" Luna says as she attacks with Maricia with Emila's support. 14000.

"I don't guard." Ice grumbled.

"Drive check, critical trigger! Power to Luquier and I'll keep the critical." Luna says smiling as she strikes out with a spiral weapon with thorns.

The succubus was hit with the attack, smoke spreading out around her. Ice flipped over a grade three followed by a stand trigger. "I stand up my rear guard and power up my vanguard."

"Luquier, attack the Vanguard!" Luna as her Avatar nods and swings her silver thorn (22000).

"I don't guard." Ice said calmly as the whip strikes.

Ice had hit his third damage, still with no trigger. 'Three to two...' He thought bitterly.

"It's your turn Ice." Luna says smiling as she passed the turn to him.

Akaihono, Hito and the others were all watching, mostly because Luna was using a new deck and they wanted to see it in action.

Ice sighed with annoayance as he drew his seventh card. "Ok..." He thought, looking down at his cards. "I ride the descendant succubus dark skinned female appeared in place of his original.

"I call demon bike of the witching hour behind it and dark soul commander to the right front line." A demonic bike appeared, followed by a man dressed in tribal attire, green symbols glowing around his hand. "Activating my succubas;s abilities, I soul charge two cards since two dark irrgulars papered on the field!"

The young man looked at Luna's field, wondering who to attack first. Ice made his decision. "My greedy hand will boost the alluring succubus, striking at upright lion!" (12000)

Luna looked at her hand, she could protect him, but without the right set up, his effect can't be used fully so she let the attack go through. "No guard."

The sucuubas whipped the lion hard, seding him into a spray of lights. He looked down at the field. "As long as there is another copy of it in the soul, demon bike gains two thousand points at all times." He grinned. "My vanguard strikes yours with bikes boost." The succubas dived onto the bike, riding at her vanguard. (17000)

"No guard." Luna says with a smile as the Vanguards clashed with one another.

Ice smiled as he flipped over his card "its a crictical trigger!" He said, hard pressed to contain his excitement. "I'm giving the critical to my vanguard and the power to dark soul conducter!"

Luna's damage reached four, but the forth damage was a Heal trigger. "Yes!! I add power and recover one damage." Luna says as her Vanguard went to 14000.

He blinked. "Grr, that's...mildly annoying." It says and grumbled. "I attack Luquier with my powered up soul conducter!" The conduter tossed his green disk of light (13000).

"I'll guard that!" Luna says using Zelma, who appears and blocks the attack.

Ice rolled his eyes in annoyance. "Ugh, ok. your turn."

Luna stands her units and draws a card. "Your silver whip brings even the mightiest dragons to their knees! Appear my Avatar! Luquier!" Luna says with a huge smile on her face.

Ice narrows his eyes, getting annoyed by her smile. He looks at Akaihono and Hito, then smirks.

Hito glared at him. "What are you smirking about punk?" He demanded angrily.

"You know Luna, you have some great friends here, don't you?" Ice says with a smile.

"I sure do!" Luna says with a huge grin on her face as she looks at Akaihono and Hito. As she said that, Akaihono smiles at Luna.

Hito grinned at her. "yeah, you tell him girl!"

"...but do they know everything about you?" Ice suddenly asks, getting their attention.

"Of course, I trust them." Luna says giggling.

"So, they know what happened 3 years ago?"

Luna stiffened, her heart skipped a few beats. "W-What..."

"Oh? So you haven't told them?" Ice asks with a shocked look on his face, though he was doing it mockingly.

"Huh? What's he talking about Luna?" Akaihono asks the purple haired girl. Luna opens her mouth but Icw started talking.

"Well, your friend here, the happy girl with no secrets, has a huge one." Ice says smiling at Luna, but it wasn't a nice smile.

"N-No!! Don't tell them!!" Luna yells suddenly, but Ice didn't stop.

"Your friend here killed her own parents!" Ice says, his face turning into one of disgust. "She cared about Vanguard too much to even care about her own loving parents!"

Luna's whole face was a mixture is sadness, horror and shock.

There was a loud crash as Hito's deck box and bag toppled to the floor, cards and books falling out. he stared in open mouthed shock.

Everyone else was also whispering among themselves.

"L-Luna?" Akaihono says as he reached out to the girl but she quickly grabs her cards and runs off, tears in her eyes. "Luna!!"

He was about to run after her but then he hears Ice talking. "Don't bother, that reaction proves it. She doesn't deny it." With that he picks up his cards and puts them away.

Hito looked at Ice. "What the heck was that about?!" He shouted. "Was that some twisted lie? I knew you were low but..."

Ice sighs and pulls out a cut out piece from a newspaper. Hito takes it and sees the words "parents of young girl killed by fire. Girl was last known to be inside the house".

Hito stared down at it. "S-so?" He stammered, half angry, half unsure. "Th-his doenst prove it was her!"

"There are several witnesses in her neibourhood that saw her to be the last person to enter and leave. There was no one else. But believe whatever you want." With that, Ice walked off, leaving a once loud and talking room, filled with silence and whispers.

Hito turned to Akaihono. "L-Luna couldn't have...right?"

"Of course not! Luna wouldn't!" Akaihono says. He knew she couldn't have. But, if she didn't do it, why would she run off? Why didn't she deny it?

Meanwhile, Luna was still running, tears in her eyes. "It's over...I'm alone...again...."
